Megan Graham Chatham is an Attorney and Registered Professional Guardian with a strong commitment to advocating for vulnerable and underserved individuals in Florida. A fourth-generation Floridian, she attended Manatee County public schools and returned to Manatee County after time away with her husband who was serving in the US Army.
Megan holds a Juris Doctorate from Stetson University College of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Florida, graduating with Academic Honors. She is an member of the Florida Bar in Good Standing.
As a Registered Professional Guardian with the State of Florida, she acts as a compassionate surrogate decision-maker, determining resources and improving the quality of life for individuals with physical, mental, and/or developmental incapacities. She has organized elder care services since 2019, guiding families through complex decisions and managing comprehensive care.
She started her legal career practicing family law in Manatee County with Melton Little, Esq. in 1997. She continued to work with family law firms throughout the United States as she and her husband moved frequently with the US Army. Upon returning to Manatee County in 2010, she again worked with Melton Little, Esq. managing the litigation department, where she handled all aspects of trial work, from drafting motions and discovery responses to conducting depositions, pre-trial hearings, and trials.
Megan’s background is uniquely suited to the sensitive nature of family law. As a Registered Professional Guardian and provider of Elder Care Services, she has spent the last several years mastering the art of high-stakes surrogate decision-making, resource determination, and advocating for the best interests of vulnerable individuals. This expertise translates directly to family law, where she excels at navigating difficult personal dynamics, protecting children’s welfare, and identifying practical solutions during emotional disputes.
Megan understands the critical personal and financial impacts of family law, and she is committed to guiding clients through divorce, child custody, support, and modification issues with dignity and strategic counsel.
Megan is deeply involved in volunteer work serving as a Board Member for the Guardian Association of Pinellas County for the 6th Judicial Circuit, as a Guardian ad litem for the 12th Judicial Circuit, and as a Stephen Minister and Outreach Committee member at Christ Episcopal Church. She has been married to James R. Chatham, Jr., MD since 1997 and they have two adult children
